South West Harmony Festival 2019

Why travel when you can have the world come to your doorstep? The Live Lighter South West Harmony Festival is a free, family-friendly event that celebrates cultural diversity and appreciation. Come down to see:

  • Indigenous arts & crafts, story-telling and food
  • West African Drumming Workshops
  • Children’s Flamenco Workshop
  • Indonesian Dance Performances
  • Brazilian Dance Workshops and
  • Delicious tasting plates from cultures around the world.

The Live Lighter South West Harmony Festival is held annually around the end of March, as part of the Australian Harmony Week.

We’re very excited to be hosting this year’s festival right here in Vasse! This year, the Vasse Development Partners were the festival’s major local sponsor in the South West.

1:15 pm Mayor Welcome Speech.

1:30pm Welcome to Nyungar Country and Story (Zac Webb)

1:45pm Indonesian Dancing Performance (Kindly donated by the Perth Embassy of Indonesia)

2.15pm African Drumming Circle (Wise Women Rhythm)

3:00pm Break and Speech.

3:10pm Brazilian Quadrilla Dance Workshop (Hakuna Matata) & Brazilian Live Band (Xoxote)

3.40pm Brazilian Partner Dancing Workshop (Pulp Movement) & Brazilian Live Band (Xoxote)

4.10pm: Local Singers

4.25pm Children’s Flamenco Workshop (Dunsborough School of Ballet)

4.55pm: Gypsy Belly performance (Belly Vision)

5.20 pm Free Dancing (Speeches)
